What better name not only for a pub but for its owners, Brendan M. Kelly and Martin T Corboy. These two were first teamed together as bartending partners at the world famous Kellys Irish Times (which Brendan still owns) and are now back together to offer SoMo (southern Adams Morgan) exactly what it needed, a quiant, sometimes boisterous irish pub, with great food, perfect pints, a cast of characters behind the bar and a world class jukebox. So stop in and catch all of your favorite games on one of our many HD tvs, play a game on our Shuffleboard Table, or just grab a cold pint and unwind. We look forward to hosting you (or your next party) and even more to "Hoisting One" with you.

Bossa Bistro/Lounge
2463 18th St NW • (202) 667-0088
Located in the heart of Adams Morgan, Bossa’s atmosphere is set with intimate lighting that you can still read by, music of varied genres at a level you can talk over, and an arrangement that gives a sense of salon without banged elbows. The first floor is designed for eating, with long banquettes and tables under high ceilings, although there's a long bar with plenty of seating in the back. A small stage is set up in the window for live music. Up in the second-story lounge, candlelight flickers on the nicotine-colored walls and dark wood ceiling. It's a cozy, intimate place, with tables surrounded by couches, burlap benches and two-foot-high leather blocks, and a half-dozen seats at a small bar. Another room in the back has a DJ booth and more seating. The music - house, Latin and downtempo - isn't too loud to preclude conversation with the person across from you or at the next barstool.

Meze
2437 18th St NW • (202) 797-0017
Meze All around the Eastern Mediterranean, “meze” (pronounced “MEH-zay”) are small dishes designed to complement a beverage, tease the tastebuds, and encourage diners to linger around the table for good companionship & conversation. Originally the word “meze” is of Persian origin, meaning “flavor”. You’ll see it spelled every which way — meze, mezze, mezza, mazza — and used to describe cuisine from Turkey, Greece, Iran, Lebanon, and Egypt. But though the word may differ from country to country and culture to culture, the spirit of meze is always the same.

Soussi Hookah Bar/Restaurant
2228 18th St NW • (202) 299-9314
The bar has a French-style draft beer system, one of only a handful in the city, where glasses are rinsed just before serving, to ensure the glass is clean and to improve the head of the beer. Belgian brews like Leffe and Hoegaarden are on offer, and bartenders mix drinks with aplomb. A small plates menu is based around French-influenced North African cooking - favorites include merguez (spicy lamb sausages) and pastilla, a Moroccan dish of spiced chicken tucked inside a puff pastry, while the entrees include plenty of steak and seafood. Upstairs, the small dining area is has been reconfigured as a North African-style lounge, with low chairs and couches, curtains and artworks. In warm weather, the spacious patio is a draw.

Tryst Coffeehouse/Bar/Lounge
2459 18th Street, NW • (202) 232-5500
Tryst The French have their cafes, the English their pubs, the Greeks their tavernas and bodegas; what do we have in America? Somewhere between home and work we all need a ‘third place’ to go — where we can escape the stresses of everyday responsibilities but still connect (with high speed internet access if you choose) to the outside world. Tryst is defining that third place for us. At Tryst, you can linger over a latte, scarf down a sandwich, or get dressed up for a date and sip martinis. Here, you're part of an eclectic mix of characters, art, and ambience. We offer espresso drinks in the Northern Italian tradition, fine French pastries, hand crafted, rustic breads for our gourmet sandwiches, and an extensive selection of international beers, wines, and liqueurs that you won’t find most places. Food and drink are part of life and who we are, and as our lives become faster, more efficient, and less personal, we can take solace in the personal care that goes into Tryst’s products and service.
