It’s been two weeks now and things are starting to slow down enough at the new gig that I can see what I need to work on. I’m shedding old habits from recruiting locally for underpaying temp jobs and starting to grasp this whole nationwide high end technical IT sourcing concept.
I have been handed over 40 reqs [open job orders] spanning the country. Oracle and SQL Server DBAs; IT Business Process Analysts [PMP]; Tivoli Storage Managers; Systems and Software Engineers; UX Designers; Application Software Developers; Java/J2EE Developers; Mobile App Developers; PeopleSoft Federal HRMS Developers; Sr. SharePoint Developers; everything but photofinishing developers [that was a past life of mine]. Chicago, Brooklyn, Boca Raton, Austin, Columbus, Herndon, Raleigh, Monterey, Auburn Hills, St. Louis, Lansing, Clearfield, Jacksonville, San Diego, Miami — thank goodness I passed 8th grade U.S. Geography class!

So, if you are an IT professional; if you know any IT professionals; if you know someone who may know someone who’s an IT professional — send me their resume! And then be sure to connect with me on LinkedIn where I also will post openings.
Some [but nowhere close to most] of the positions I’m recruiting for I post on another blog. Unless someone visits the site everyday, I recommend just subscribing to the newsletter by clicking the link to the right.
Please do email/forward this to everyone you know. If you don’t know anyone in IT then perhaps your people do. Though I won’t be able to contact everyone, it sure helps to have their resume before their ideal job becomes open and I’m already sourcing people from the job boards.

Ok, maybe I wasn’t being fair when I said people who apply for jobs online are being lazy. My friend Kathy brought it to my attention, mentioning that even when you do get out the pad and attend a job fair, companies say, “go to the website and apply online.” And then don’t let it be one of those online applications that takes about an hour to fill out!
