There’s a grocery called Grand Mart in Alexandria that Nduku and I go to from time to time to get our meats, veggies and stuff you won’t find in your local American-style grocery store. The food and spices are generally imported from other countries. The meat is fresher [and more affordable], the rice is more Korean [I like my rice sticky] and the variety is more exotic.
The people shopping speak English with an accent, some of the spices come in plastic bags with labels of companies we never heard of but taste like that were just packaged yesterday, and the seafood smells like it was pulled right out the ocean before you walked in.
Just thought I’d share. This past Saturday, before hitting the Grand Mart, we had lunch at TGIFridays…
