The Birthday Celebration Continues on U Street

After the birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese wound down, we kept it going into the night. I took Najwa and Alani to U Street where they were screening Finding Nemo outdoors.

The first stop was McDonalds, though. It pains me to feed Najwa (and her friend at that) more junk food after the junk food at Chuck E. Cheese, but U Street doesn’t have many kid-friendly establishments when the sun goes down on a Saturday evening.

It was funny watching the little ladies watching Finding Nemo, and the star seemed to be Dory! Parents get this.

But it didn’t take long for them to get restless, especially when next to us was a playground. So, though it was pretty dark, there was just enough ambient light to spent most of the evening there.

It was a long day! But when I look back at the photos of Najwa and her buddy, all smiles and being kids, so worth it.
