There was this little gas station off Battleground Avenue that I’d use to get my gas back in my A&T days. It simply had the cheapest gas in town. We’re talking about the mid-90s, but what happened to the days when gas hovered at $1 a gallon? I would scrape up a few quarters, pour $2.50 into the tank and be good. I mean be good for the week!
As summer 2011 approaches gas prices are ensuring we’ll never see those days again. While taking the scenic route home, Nduku and I rolled past the Watergate Complex and there’s an Exxon there still trying to raise money to clean up the Prince William Sound in Alaska. Across the street was a Sunoco pushing petro at $3.65 a gallon if you were paying cash. Exxon, literally across the street, well, take a look…
